First of many -- Global Recordings Network

Hey friends!

Like many who are searching for the next big thing and preparing to head out from a place they call home, I've decided to start a blog to keep you all informed with the happenings of my life! Exciting, I know!

So here's what's new with me lately:

I'm currently working at an Apple computer store in Corvallis, OR where I'm learning a fair amount about... well, computers. But the main focus for me right now is an organization called Global Recordings Network (or GRN). I've been investigating and moving toward working with this organization for the last year or so, and lately things have been heating up quite nicely.
Let me first inform you of what GRN does:
GRN is a Christian organization that seeks to tell the story of God's Word in people's heart language all around the world. Many people groups are illiterate and/or do not yet have a translation of the Bible in their own language. So GRN's goal is to reach these people by going over and having one of their people verbally record scripts that explain the Bible and why Jesus Christ came. These recordings are then brought back to an office, where they are cleaned up, mastered, put on a hand-cranked mp3 player, and then distributed back to the people to have as a message of hope!

I went to school to study audio recording, so when I heard about this ministry, I thought it had to be God's will for me to pursue it. Thus I am currently preparing to head to California in Feb. 2012 to work in their office, cleaning up recordings for about 6 months. After this, I hope to head to the Australia office for another 6 months for more clean-up and exposure to what GRN does.

I'm very excited with the opportunities that God has given me and that I can use my passions to serve Him in his will.
